Welcome to the Junior section. This section will be constantly kept up to date with junior news, competition results and all junior events throughout the coming year. Please keep in touch with any news by email here and they can be added to the website.

Junior News
We are now very pleased to announce that all juniors with a handicap can play at weekends after 9am. This is for a trial period so we would stress to all juniors to please respect this new ruling and always use common sense and if needs be stand aside and let adult members through if you are slow. Now you have no excuse to get up over the winter months leading up to the start of the season.
Centenary Open Championships
A huge congratulations to Jonny Doidge in winning the Open Championships with a very credible score of 136. A great achievement for Jonny, and more things to come I am sure.
Something that was quite amazing is that the top 4 are or have been filton juniors, so we really have something to shout about.. Well done to Oli Hooper who has yet again broken his old course record.
Junior Captain 2009
Robert Lloyd is appointed junior captain for 2009, along with Sam Williams as his assistant, and we wish them all the best for the season ahead.

Coaching will be part of some of the junior nights but will inform you via email. Weekend coaching sessions will be confirmed by email also.
Open Comps
There are many junior Opens that you can enter along with Adult/Junior Opens and lots more club events. Please feel free to download the entry forms below and enter these competitions. Any entry forms not available here will be in the junior folder which is inside the clubhouse.
All Jeff Hall Trophy events are important indicators to County Selectors of a player’s current ability and it is advisable for all competitors who aspire to County honours to ensure that they enter these events.The top 12 juniors will be invited to play in the Cotswold Trophy in October at Chipping Sodbury. The Player achieving the highest number of points from these six qualifying events plus the Cotswold Trophy wins the Jeff Hall Trophy and retains it for one year. The presentation is made at the end of the Junior Open Season at Chipping Sodbury on 11th October 2009. Max Handicap 18 .

Team Selection/Reports/Results
2008 was a season to remember, and most of our juniors had a great year in terms of improvement and great achievements. Presentation Night at the club was dominated by juniors and with our sucess in the B&D Junior league, and finishing off the season with wins at B&C Junior Open 2009 is going to be an exiting year for us all.

Result - 3½ / 2½ Win A great result, and a good start to our season. Wins from the big guns as per usual with Rob,Jonny & Luke taking big wins along with Mitch who had a bigger fight on his hands but clinching the half point to take us to victory. Well played to Elliott and Dan, but we all know from experience that to win you have to taste some defeats. Well done to all the team and roll on the next match.

Result - 2½ / ½ Win A great win was had at Shirehampton with all matches very close indeed. Jonny & Shaun who were 3 up at one point soon saw their hard work taken away by great golf from Shirehampton ending in a half. Sam & Dougie played great golf and won thier match 2 & 1. Mitch & George H werent aware of this result coming up the last all square and Mitch hit the green in true county fashion, with George then rolling the putt up for Mitch to secure the half. Well done boys, and such a great contest.

Result - 2½ / 3½ Loss The weather was appalling which didn't make conditions good for the teams, but Knowle got the result they were after with course knowledge it was always going to be a tough one for filton boys. Well done to Shaun and George who are our team rookies. They both played very well with Shaun taking a win. Congratulations to Dougie on his winning match, which just goes to show its not all about distance, but consistency. Unfortunately our captain lost his match to a knowle junior that was obviously in very good form, and well done to Luke who came so close to winning on the last, but did very well indeed to secure the half. We look forward to the return game. |

Result - 4 / 2 Win What a great result at The Park. Unfortunatley they were one man down so we started off with a point in the bag, and poor old Dougie didnt get to challenge. Wins from Rob, Jonny and Luke. Well done to Sam and Elliott and the whole team for a much needed result. My thanks also the the parents for helping out due to me not being available. I really do appreciate the support.

Result - 2½ / ½ Win A wonderful result for the juniors which was held at Filton. The weather was fantastic and course in tip top condition as per usual. Sam and Elliott lead the way and took the first point with a 6&5 win. Luke and Dan played very well indeed and took the second point on the 16th with Shaun and George H grabbing a half on the last. Into the semi finals, and well done guys.

Arc Monitoring Ltd was founded in October 1999 by the Management team of a successful security company based in Bristol. Collectively they felt that there was an increasing need for a CCTV surveillance facility that could guarantee a specialist remote monitoring service for both the installer and end user, which focused specifically on three key elements: reliability, honesty and efficiency.

The partnership of JB Glass and Glazing started on 1st March 1979. At that time there were Jerry Burston. (That's where the J.B. came from) Ray Hill and Roy Oaten. Now 29 years on, a 'grey-haired' Roy Oaten survives as a sole trader. We are happy to be known as the "GLASS SHOP" on Filton Ave "Glass cut to size" Is still required and we are able to take orders over the phone, fax or email. We have a tremendous following of customers old and new. The manager James Cooke and his helpful assistant Bristol Blue Collectable's and Trophies manager Matthew Gapper are mines of information. |
